The XiP air filter is located on the right side of the XiP printer, in front of the intake fan and inside of the light engine cavity. The air filter plays two roles in the XiP printer - it helps cool the light engine and it keeps debris away from it.

The XiP air filter should be replaced every 3-6 months but that largely depends on the air quality. The lifespan of the XiP air fan can potentially be extended if the XiP AiR device is used as well. Tips on how to replace the XiP air filter are available in the Usage Tips section.

Replacing the XiP air filter requires the use of a 3 mm hex key (provided with the XiP printer) and only takes 3 steps:

  1. Locate the removable fan cover panel on the right hand side of the printer, remove the 4 screws holding it in place with the help of the hex key, and remove the fan cover.
  2. Slide the used filter out of the frame on the back of the cover.
  3. Slide the new filter into the frame, replace the fan cover and attach with the 4 screws.

The air filter in the XiP printer should be replaced every 3-6 months depending on the air quality. The filter may last longer if the XiP AiR device is also used in the workspace.
