Introducing the Original Prusa XL Enclosure: a modular box designed for your Prusa3D XL printer. This accessory integrates seamlessly with the Original Prusa XL 3D printer. It provides a stable printing environment with elevated temperatures, facilitating the printing of advanced materials such as PCCF, Nylon, PP, ASA, among others. It eliminates drafts, prevents warping, and thanks to its Advanced Filtration System (HEPA filter with 99.9% efficiency), reduces odors and prevents the spread of ultrafine particles (UFPS) in the air. It also reduces printer noise and covers all moving parts.

It is designed to seamlessly integrate with the rest of the printer, both physically and via software. Being connected directly to the printer’s mainboard, you can configure various useful functions through the printer’s LCD touchscreen. You can adjust filtration performance, post-print filtration time (especially useful for materials like ASA or PCCF), control the LED strips, and check the HEPA filter’s lifespan directly from the printer’s menu.

It facilitates printing of certain materials and adds numerous benefits. The Advanced Filtration System with a 99.9% efficient HEPA filter reduces odors and prevents the dispersion of ultrafine particles (UFPS) into the air. The printer automatically controls the filtration, using an airflow drawn from below and expelled through the HEPA filter. You can check the internal temperature using the door thermometer or the printer’s screen.

For materials that don’t produce many particles or odors (like PLA and PETG), filtration is disabled to extend the HEPA filter’s lifespan, but can be manually activated. The printer also monitors the HEPA filter’s usage and notifies you when it needs replacement. The enclosure also includes an additional synchronized LED strip that illuminates the print area and serves as a printer status indicator.

Illuminated print

Everything is included in the package, so there is no need to print anything yourself. You only need to replace several plastic components of your printer (such as some extruder parts or the belt holder) with the parts included in the box, made from a more heat-resistant material (PCCF). The Original Prusa3D XL printer is not included in the package.

Closed enclosure

The enclosure creates a stable printing environment with high temperatures, protecting the printer from drafts and cold air bursts. This is ideal for printing demanding materials at high temperatures that would otherwise be prone to warping, such as PCCF, nylon, PP, among others. It also reduces dust accumulation on moving parts, helping to keep the printer operational and reducing the need for frequent maintenance. Furthermore, the filtration system is especially useful when printing with fiber-reinforced or mineral-filled materials, and other materials that release particles during printing. It also reduces odors and prevents the spread of ultrafine particles (UFPS) in the air.

The frame is made of metal and the side and top panels are made of PETG plastic. The frame includes mounting elements for installing various additional printed parts, electronics, cameras, and other accessories, with organized cable management. The enclosure also features an additional LED strip, directly connected to the XL printer and synchronized with its built-in LED strips. In addition to illuminating the print area, it serves as a visual indicator of the printer’s status.

Some materials, such as PLA, perform poorly at high temperatures. That’s why a special magnetic bellows cover was designed, which can be quickly folded down, creating a much better airflow to maintain optimal conditions for these materials. This ensures that you can print any material without limitations. The bellows cover is made of high-quality and durable polyester and polyurethane. Unlike standard hinged doors, the folded cover does not take up additional space on the sides or in front of the printer, and also provides much better access to the entire print area.
