The 4-in-1 PTFE adapter is an innovative component designed for Bambu Lab’s X1 and P1 series filament 3D printers. Its primary function is to connect the PTFE tube, allowing users to link up to four feeder modules simultaneously.

This adapter enhances versatility by supporting a combination of up to seven different filaments, including those from the Automatic Material System (AMS) and other filaments that are incompatible with AMS. Some examples of incompatible materials would be TPU 95 A, Bambu PET-CF, and other brands of carbon-fiber or glass-fiber reinforced filaments.

Versatile configurations

The Bambu 4-in-1 PTFE Adapter offers distinct connection options to optimize filament management. One combination could be the following:

  1. The first inlet is used for the default spool holder built into the printer.
  2. The second inlet connects to the AMS (Automatic Material System) for multi-color printing via the filament buffer or Filaments Hub.
  3. Inlets no. 3 and 4 are ideal for attaching drying boxes, which are essential when working with moisture-sensitive materials like TPU or PC, ensuring consistent print quality by keeping filaments dry and ready for use.

Use with and without AMS

When using the AMS, users need to connect the PTFE tube from the printer's tool head to the OUT end of the adapter, and link the buffer output to one of the IN ends of the adapter. In this configuration, up to three filament strands can be directly inserted into the remaining IN holes of the adapter, ensuring a streamlined multi-filament feed process.

If the AMS is not in use, the setup changes slightly. Users connect the PTFE tube from the tool head to the OUT end of the adapter and can directly insert up to four filament strands into the IN holes. It is crucial to ensure proper connection orientation during installation to prevent filament blockages, emphasizing the importance of correctly following the recommended setup process for optimal printing performance.
