Glow in the dark Smartfil PLA
PLA (polylactic acid) is a biodegradable plastic derived from natural resources, in particular is obtained from the extracted starch from corn, sugar beet and wheat. PLA is one of the most widely used 3D printing materials today because it does not release harmful gases and it is not necessary to have a 3D printer with hot bed which makes it very easy to print with it.
With "Glow in the dark" Smartfil PLA filament you can get figures that glow in the dark of fluorescent.
"Glow in the dark" Smartfil PLA filament (1.75 mm or 2.85 mm) is the easiest material 3D printers print on FDM/FFF Technology. With this Smartfil PLA "Glow in the dark" filament (1.75mm or 2.85 mm) you can get brighter and soft figures using the ABS filament while the figures are rigid and resistant, also printed parts PLA behave better with angles and they don´t need warm bed.
"Glow in the dark" Smartfil PLA filament (1.75 mm or 2.85 mm) is made of high quality without recycled material and fully stabilized with a variability of ± 0.03 mm diameter which produces warping and which is obtained an excellent resolution printing. With this "Glow in the dark" Smartfil PLA you can print at a faster print speed than other basic PLA filaments obtaining a better surface finish.
In addition, the "Glow in the dark" Smartfil PLA filament (1.75 mm or 2.85 mm) is a permanent, odorless polymer. The extrusion temperature for printing with this "Glow in the dark" Smartfil PLA filament must be between 200 and 220 °C. In the usage tips tab you will find more interesting information for optimal results using PLA filament "Glow in the dark" Smartfil in your 3D printer.
You can not drill, paint or sanding as ABS but is a more stable and easier plastic print. If you want to achieve extraordinary surface finish in the Smartfil PLA "Glow in the dark" filament (1.75mm or 2.85 mm) using coating designed specifically for 3D printing you can find in the accessories category called XTC-3D. For higher yields of 3D printing it is advisable to cover the bed of the printer with Blue Tape, Magigoo or 3DLac, you can find them in the store fixtures.
Furthermore 750 grams spool of "Glow in the dark" Smartfil PLA filament (1.75mm or 2.85 mm) are packaged in the Smart Bag that is a novel multilayer packaging that is recyclable and reusable and is used to store and protect a single coil filament several times by offering greater protection against external agents such as humidity.
3D printing with PLA is simpler and easier than with ABS. It is not necessary that the printer dock is hot, but if possible it is recommended that the base is at about 50-60 °C, to prevent any small sign of "warping" appears. The extruder temperature must be between 200 and 220 °C depending on the color and the 3D printer used. In our blog article 3D printing is explained about the main concerns of 3D printing PLA and ABS.
If your printer has a fan nozzle it is recommended that you activate it for best results. If you need to print very thin and tall pieces, you will see that the PLA plastic doesn´t give you enough time to harden each layer, so that the piece will be as if it had melted. To solve this problem we give a very simple advice, it prints at the same time at least two pieces, and place them separate at the base. Thus while the extruder is moved from one piece to another, the plastic has time to harden each layer in achieving a better result. The adhesion of the first layer is key and probably the most important factors for good impressions. so you can use Blue Tape, BuildTak, Magigoo or 3DLac.
It is also advisable to set the "raft", which is to create a first thick layer, such as media, who will not suffer that contraction and on which to print the piece. The disadvantage of using the "raft" is that this first layer will have a less smooth. It is advisable to lower the density of "infill" parameter for the part to store less heat. As for the "brim" (the membrane that is created around the piece) parameter is recommended to set it to never greater thicknesses of 5mm to help the first layer will not peel.
You should note that if the Smartfil PLA filament is printed below 225 ºC will get a glossy finish, whereas if you print more than 225 °C temperature, the finish will be matte.
As for the interior temperature where printed it is recommended to be controlled and no drafts.
With Smartfil PLA filament you can get figures that glow in the dark.
