T-Glase (Resistant Glass) is an innovative PETT filament (an evolution of the PET) by Taulman. It is a high quality material designed for 3D printing in an easy and accessible way. It is a recently created one of its kind filament with some special characteristics - transparency and high resistance. It has a greater rigidity and lower flexibility that nylon filaments of Taulman.

T-Glase complies with all the official certifications and has been approved for direct contact with foods. This allows it to be used in glasses, cups and other containers. Although it is not a bioplastic, T-Glase of Taulman is considered environmentally friendly since it is 100% recyclable. It does not produce smells or fumes when 3D printed.

In addition to all these advantages of use, T-Glase is very easy to print. T-Glase has a low contraction rate, which facilitated the 3D printing of big pieces. T-Glase also adheres easily to platforms made of acrylic, glass, Kapton, etc, which significantly decreases the risk of warping. It is not very susceptible to humidity absorption, since the T-Glase keeps the humidity on the surface of the piece, so post-printing drying is not necessary. Regarding its high rigidity, the T-Glase is more similar to ABS and PLA, not so much to the Taulman 618 and 645, which are more flexible.

Another great feature offered by the T-Glase is that it does not delaminate with big pieces. It is designed for users that print with PLA or lowe temperature 3D printers.

Taulman T-Glase has a viscosity slightly greater that the one of other materials. When it gives height of the layer surpasses 50% of the diameter of the filter, the speed of impression has to adjust 15% to the drop. It can be necessary lengthen the distance of retraction because of this greater viscosity.

If when you are printing you appreciate bubbles in the thread, then are a clear indication that the temperature is greater of the necessary and will have to go down it. If it reduces the temperature of impression underneath of 238ºC will obtain less opacity of thread because of the recombination with the atmosphere, however this also will reduce the union in the upper layers to 25% of the diameter of the filter.

If what interests you obtain is a high transparency only have to increase the thickness of his layer to a minimum of 70%, but preferably 80% of his value of filter. This causes an increase significantly of the optical path allowing like this less internal reflections inside each thread. To convert the printed piece of a group of threads to a transparent glass is indispensable to apply the product of coating manufactured by “Smooth-On” called  XTC-3D and that is available in the section of accessories.
