The Bambu Lab Translucent PETG is a filament designed for those looking to combine an elegant translucent finish with robust mechanical properties and outdoor resistance. It stands out for low warping, water and UV resistance, and the ability to maintain its structure even under temperature changes, making it ideal for visual or functional projects requiring translucency.

This material offers a smooth printing experience thanks to its optimized formula, minimizing common issues such as stringing, filament build-up on the nozzle (“clumping”), leakage, or excessive filament adhesion to the hotend. Its 1.75 mm diameter ensures consistency and it is compatible with AMS and AMS Lite systems that facilitate handling and tracking. The product comes in 1 kg spools and is also available as refill, with various translucent color options to play with light, shadow, and layer thickness.

Print settings will modify the final effect of the part

To achieve optimal results with Translucent PETG, it is recommended to:

  • Dry it before use: 65 °C for approximately 8 hours.
  • Keep relative humidity below 20 % during storage and use.
  • Nozzle temperature between 230–260 °C and heated bed between 65–75 °C.
  • Printing speed below 220 mm/s to preserve translucent details and prevent defects.
  • Use compatible print surfaces such as Cool Plate, SuperTack, Smooth PEI, or Textured PEI to ensure initial adhesion and ease of
  • removal.

One of the great aesthetic advantages of Translucent PETG is its light transmission capability. Depending on wall thickness, infill used, and chosen color, pieces can range from a slightly tinted tone to near transparency.
