PA-CF pellets are small cylinders of the highest quality material, composed of a mixture of polyamides and carbon fibres. This is an extremely tough material with excellent high temperature performance, ideal for manufacturing parts that need to withstand stress. The incorporation of carbon fibre increases electrical conductivity, making it suitable for conductive and dissipative applications.

PA-CF pellets do not incorporate recycled or reclaimed material. Thanks to these qualities, PA-CF pellets are perfect for 3D printing, achieving high print quality. The carbon fibres added to the polyamide blend increase the strength and stiffness of the material, allowing large objects to be 3D printed without deformation and extremely strong. There are several methods for using pellets in 3D printing:

  • PA-CF pellets can be used in the manufacture of filament for FDM 3D printers using Filastruder or any other filament extruder.
  • It is possible to use a pellet extruder for 3D printing directly.

With the combination of PA-CF Pellets and a good filament extruder such as Filastruder, it is possible to obtain 3D printing filament with qualities similar to those of a commercial PA-CF filament.

When using PA-CF Pellets to make filament with a filament extruder such as Filastruder or using a pellet extruder for direct 3D printing, it should be noted that the extrusion temperature must be regulated in relation to the extrusion speed used. For optimal results, it is recommended to read the product's usage advice.

Thanks to its properties, PA-CF pellets are particularly suitable for professional users who require extra quality in their prints and are mainly intended for parts that will have an end use or for functional prototypes.

The carbon fibre content of PA-CF pellets makes it a very abrasive material, so it is recommended to use a hardened steel nozzle with an outlet diameter of more than 0.5 mm.

After use, it is recommended to use a cleaning filament to avoid clogging and to keep the hotend in good condition.

Nylon is an extremely hygroscopic material. This means that it has a high tendency to absorb ambient moisture. When combined with carbon fibres the degree of moisture absorption decreases, but is still significant. It is therefore highly recommended to store PA-CF pellets in an airtight bag or use desiccant bags to prevent them from absorbing moisture. If the pellets have moisture in them, the filament that is manufactured may contain small imperfections and this can directly affect the print quality.
