Raise3D E2CF nozzle
Filaments enriched with carbon fibres tend to be much more abrasive than normal filaments, leading to accelerated nozzle wear and poor quality 3D prints. To prevent this, Raise 3D has designed special nozzles for the E2CF 3D printer.
They are made of silicon carbide (SiC), a material that can withstand the abrasion of carbon fibre filaments.
These two parts shown above were 3D printed with Raise 3D's SiC nozzle - the part on the left with a brand new SiC nozzle and the part on the right with a SiC nozzle that has been in use for 1000 hours. The difference is virtually invisible.
The effects of abrasion on normal nozzles when used with abrasive filaments can be seen in the photo above. The part on the left was 3D printed with a normal nozzle, not suitable for carbon fibre filaments. The part on the right demonstrates much better quality because it was printed with Raise 3D's hardened silicon carbide nozzle, specially designed for carbon-enriched filaments and the E2CF 3D printer.
