3D Solex is a Norwegian manufacturer specializing in the development and manufacture of improved accessories for 3D FDM printers, such as nozzles and HotEnds.
3D Solex has a range of nozzles, where you can find nozzles with a minimum outlet diameter since 0.10 mm to 2.0 mm, with a non-stick coating or reinforced with a ruby or diamond tip. In addition, 3DSolex has nozzles compatible with E3D V6 and Prusa, as well as with the specific range for Raise3D N2 and the own one for Ultimaker, after adaptation with their Hardcore.
Some of these nozzles use the so-called Core Heating Technology, which increases the melting area of the material, and consequently It achieves a fusion flow of up to 3 times greater than with other nozzles.
Standard nozzles melt the filament from the outside in. In this way, the core of the filament constitutes the coldest part, being the one that pushes and reaches the nozzle faster. With the Core Heating Technology, the filament melts from the inside, separating into various pathways, which expand the melting surface.
Thus, the following advantages are achieved:
Within the range of nozzles offered by 3D Solex, there are five types:
Hardcore Everlast
Matchless Everlast
Hardcore ICE
Matchless
RSB Brass
All these nozzles are compatible with the following materials: PLA, ABS, HIPS, PC, TPU, TPE, Nylon, PETG, HANDLE, PP and PVA.
In addition, Hardcore Everlast and Marchless Everlast nozzles are compatible for filaments with abrasive fibers such as fiberglass filaments, carbon fiber filaments, metal filaments or wood fiber filaments.
Below you can see the different input and output diameters offered by each model, as well as which of them have Core Heating Technology:

Ruby-Tip Nozzle with Core Heating Technology.
Like the world-renowned nozzle in the 3D FDM printing industry, Nozzle Olsson Ruby, this nozzle consists of a brass body with a ruby tip. Ruby is a type of corundum whose hardness on the Mohs scale is one degree lower than that of the Diamond (9/10). The extreme hardness of this gem is what gives the Hardcore Everlast nozzle its great resistance to abrasion. Thanks to this, with the 3D Solex Hardcore Everlast nozzle it can be used with technical materials and filaments that contain abrasive particles without fear of damaging the nozzle or that its wear interferes in the course of printing or finishing the pieces.
This nozzle uses Core Heating Technology.
The 3D Solex Hardcore Everlast nozzle is compatible with the following HotEnds: 3DSolex Hardcore AA, 3SSolex Hardcore PVA-BB ( for Ultimaker 3, Ultimaker 3 Extended, Ultimaker S3 and Ultimaker S5).
This nozzle is available with the following outlet diameters: 0.25 mm, 0.40 mm, 0.50 mm, 0.60 mm, 0.80 mm and 1.20 mm; and only with an entrance diameter of 2.85 mm.
* The 0.25 mm outlet diameter nozzle isn't adapted with Core Heating Technology.
Ruby-Tip Nozzle with Core Heating Technology. Available for 1.75 mm and 2.85 mm inlet diameters.
One of the representative characteristics of this nozzle is its ruby tip. Ruby is a type of corundum whose hardness on the Mohs scale is one degree lower than that of the Diamond. The extreme hardness of this gem is what gives the Hardcore Everlast nozzle its great resistance to abrasion. Thanks to this, the 3D Solex Hardcore Everlast nozzle can be used with technical materials and filaments that contain abrasive particles without fear of damaging the nozzle or that its wear interferes during the printing or finishing of the parts.
This nozzle uses Core Heating Technology.
The 3D Solex Matchless Everlast nozzle is compatible with the following HotEnds: Prusa, Raise3D N2, E3D V6 and other 3D printers that have hotends with M6x1 threaded block.
This nozzle is available with the following outlet diameters: 0.25 mm, 0.40 mm, 0.60 mm, 0.80 mm and 1.20 mm.
* The 0.25 mm outlet diameter nozzle isn't adapted with Core Heating Technology.
Starting from the base of a stainless steel nozzle, 3D Solex has covered this nozzle with an "ICE" layer. This layer prevents PLA or any other type of material from sticking. This not only occurs on the exterior walls, but the interior surface part also has this coating, which largely prevents jams and allows the user to remove the filament cold. In addition to the non-stick effect, the "ICE" layer increases surface resistance, an advantage that, if we choose an outlet diameter of 0.50 mm or greater, makes this nozzle the ideal accessory for printing medium pieces with abrasive materials.
This nozzle uses Core Heating Technology.
The 3D Solex Hardcore ICE nozzle supports the following HotEnds: 3DSolex Hardcore AA, 3SSolex Hardcore PVA-BB ( for Ultimaker 3, Ultimaker 3 Extended, Ultimaker S3 and Ultimaker S5).
This nozzle is available with the following outlet diameters: 0.10 mm, 0.15 mm, 0.25 mm, 0.40 mm, 0.60 mm, 0.80 mm and 1.00 mm; and only with an entrance diameter of 2.85 mm.
* Nozzles with outlet diameter from 0.1 mm to 0.25 mm, are not adapted with Core Heating Technology.
These nozzles are available in two inlet diameters: 1.75mm and 2.85mm and a wide variety of outlet diameters. Furthermore, they are compatible with a long list of 3D printers and HotEnds.
One of the peculiarities of this nozzle is its threading, longer than in standard nozzles. This expansion increases the volume of molten material using the same temperature parameters.
This nozzle uses Core Heating Technology.
The 3D Solex Matchless nozzle is compatible with the following HotEnds: Olsson block, Ultimaker 2+, 3DSolex V3 Matchless block, HotEnds E3D V6 and hotends with M6x1 mm threaded block.
This nozzle is available with the following outlet diameters: 0.25 mm, 0.40 mm, 0.60 mm, 0.80 mm, 1.00 mm, 1.50 mm, and 2.00 mm.
* The nozzle with 0.25 mm outlet diameter, isn't adapted with Core Heating Technology.
These nozzles are made of brass. This material provides the best thermal conductivity. RSB Brass nozzles are only available with a 2.85mm inlet diameter, and are compatible with a large number of printers and HotEnds on the market.
The 3D RSB Brass nozzle is compatible with the following HotEnds: Olsson block, Ultimaker 2+, 3DSolex V3 Matchless block, HotEnds E3D and other hotends.
This nozzle is available with the following outlet diameters: 0.25 mm, 0.40 mm, 0.60 mm and 0.80 mm.

Among the new 3DSolex nozzles are several available with the smallest outlet diameters on the market, 0.10 mm and 0.15 mm. When using these nozzles it is recommended to use a height of the first layer of 0.15 mm and then 0.10 mm for the Nozzle 0.10 mm; and a height of the first layer of 0.25 mm and then 0.15 mm for the Nozzle 0.15 mm. This ensures that the first layer has enough material to adhere to the base. These nozzles are only recommended for users of an Ultimaker 3 or S5 who have a great knowledge of 3D FDM printing.
When changing a nozzle, the manufacturer's recommendations should be followed, use the right tools and level the base of the Ultimaker 3 or S5 once the new nozzle is installed.
The following table shows the maximum recommended temperature for each type of nozzle:
Nozzle | Recommended maximum temperature |
---|---|
RSB Brass | 350 ºC |
Matchless | 350 ºC |
Hardcore "ICE" | 260 ºC |
Matchless Everlast | 2000 ºC |
Hardcore Everlast | 2000 ºC |
