The AMS 2 Pro Upgrade Kit from Bambu Lab allows you to add a Filament Buffer or an AMS Hub to your X1/P1 printer, adapting the system for use with one or multiple units.
With the launch of Bambu Lab’s new material management systems—AMS HT and AMS 2 Pro—it has become essential to consider installing the Filament Buffer when integrating these accessories with X1 or P1 series printers. The buffer acts as a critical intermediary between the printer and the AMS system, ensuring smooth, uninterrupted filament feeding. This is especially important when using multiple filament types or frequently changing materials during printing.
Additionally, when connecting more than one AMS unit, an AMS Hub must be used instead of the Filament Buffer to properly manage filament distribution. For X1 or P1 users planning to use a single AMS 2 Pro, we recommend the AMS 2 Pro Upgrade Kit 1, which includes the Filament Buffer and other components for smooth integration. To connect multiple AMS units, the AMS 2 Pro Upgrade Kit 2 with the AMS Hub is the appropriate choice.
The kit includes the Bambu Bus 4‑pin cable, the Switching Adapter for the drying function, and all the required PTFE tubes (370 mm and 550 mm) for quick and hassle-free installation.
