Tool for self-tapping inserts ensat
The tool for self-tapping inserts type ensat is an indispensable tool when placing this type of bushings in one piece.
Self-tapping bushings type ensat are used in 3D printing of resin and SLS, since heat threaded inserts are not a good solution due to the high melting point of the materials used in these technologies. Self-tapping bushings type ensat have a wide groove to cut while the screw is inserted and a conical entry to facilitate the centering of the insert.
The user must select the thread diameter (M4, M5 or M6) depending on the diameter of the self-tapping insert type ensat that he wishes to use. In the section "Tips for use" the recommendations on how to use this tool correctly are discussed.
Below are the three steps that the user must follow to place the insert correctly:
The user must drill or manufacture the part with the diameter and length of the hole recommended by the manufacturer of the insert. Next, place the self-tapping insert in the tool with the groove facing down, without the tip of the tool exceeding the bottom of the insert.
Position the tool parallel to the axis of the hole and start screwing. After two turns, the user must verify that the tool remains perfectly aligned, if not, it must stop screwing and realign the tool. You should not reverse the direction of rotation during the screwing process.
When the insert has reached the determined depth (it is recommended to insert the upper part 0.2 mm below the surface of the piece), the hexagonal part of the tool must be held with a wrench and then turn the upper part of the tool in counter clockwise to remove it.
