The Hyper Speed PET CF filament from Raise3D is an advanced polyethylene terephthalate (PET) reinforced with 15% carbon fiber, designed for Hyper FFF high-speed 3D printing and high-performance applications. This filament offers superior mechanical properties, with an elastic modulus E > 4.5 GPa and enhanced thermal resistance, reaching a heat deflection temperature (HDT) above 110 °C, ensuring robust and reliable parts in demanding environments.

Performance and Dimensional Accuracy

Thanks to the optimized carbon fiber length distribution and the PET crystallinity, the filament maintains low moisture absorption and excellent printability, producing parts with long-term dimensional accuracy, stability, and a matte, uniform surface finish. Printed parts are ideal for professional-grade engineering components that require moisture resistance, high temperatures, and heavy-duty use.

Compatibility and Industrial Applications

The filament is compatible with industrial PET support filaments, allowing the printing of complex structures without compromising final quality. Its high stiffness and strength, along with chemical and thermal resistance, make it perfect for applications in automotive, end-use industrial parts, jigs, and fixtures, optimizing productivity and ensuring consistent results in industrial environments.

RFID Version for Greater Printing Control

The RFID version includes a smart tag that allows compatible printers to automatically identify filament type and verify the ideal printing parameters, enhancing consistency and safety during 3D printing. This filament can also be used on compatible printers without an RFID sensor, retaining all performance advantages of Hyper Speed PET CF.

Differences Between Hyper Speed PET CF and Raise3D PET CF

The main difference between Hyper Speed PET CF and Raise3D PET CF lies in printing performance and process optimization. Hyper Speed PET CF is specifically designed for Hyper FFF high-speed 3D printing, offering a balance of speed, stiffness, and long-term dimensional accuracy, ideal for industrial environments demanding productivity and efficiency. It also features an RFID tag version for automatic filament identification and parameter setup, ensuring greater control and safety.

On the other hand, the standard PET CF, while sharing the same PET base reinforced with 15% carbon fiber, is geared toward versatile and robust use, offering excellent chemical and thermal resistance and enhanced properties through annealing, reaching heat deflection temperatures up to 150 °C and superior mechanical strength.

It is best suited for printers with abrasion-resistant extrusion systems, such as the Raise3D E2CF and RMF500, designed to maximize component durability and achieve high-performance parts in automotive, aerospace, and electronics sectors. In summary, Hyper Speed PET CF focuses on speed and industrial productivity, while PET CF prioritizes robustness, versatility, and post-processing optimization.

Conclusion

In summary, Hyper Speed PET CF filament combines high printing speed, mechanical stiffness, thermal resistance, and dimensional stability, making it the perfect choice for demanding industrial projects and engineering components that require precision, durability, and efficiency in advanced working environments.

The Hyper Speed PET CF filament requires a nozzle temperature of 300 °C and a print bed at 80 °C to ensure optimal layer adhesion and quality. The recommended layer height is 0.2 to 0.25 mm, while the print speed can be adjusted between 50 and 200 mm/s depending on part complexity. It is important to keep the layer fan on for even cooling and consistent surface finish.

Before printing, the filament should be dried at 80 °C for 12 to 24 hours, as low moisture content is crucial for final part quality. After drying, it is recommended to store the filament in a drying box during printing, which protects it from ambient humidity and ensures consistent, reliable extrusion.

Because Hyper Speed PET CF is abrasive due to the carbon fiber, brass nozzles wear quickly. It is recommended to use at least a hardened steel nozzle, preferably a silicon carbide nozzle or ruby nozzle to maintain precision and prolong equipment life, especially for long or high-speed prints.
