This Thermoplastic Polyurethane is obtained by modifying Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE). TPU is an ideal material for applications where flexibility, elasticity and good adhesion between layers are required, which is very important in FDM 3D printing. Another advantage is its high abrasion resistance and smooth surface finish, which minimises friction between contacting elements. In addition, this material shows good chemical resistance in contact with fats, oils and solvents.

In the case of 93A TPU, 93A refers to the degree of hardness of the material on the Shore scale. In this case, the nature of the material is flexible, and the hardness allows this material to be printed on almost any FDM 3D printer regardless of whether its extruder is a direct or Bowden extruder.

93A TPU pellets are small cylinders of the highest quality material. They do not incorporate recycled or reclaimed material. Because of these qualities, TPU 93A pellets are perfect for 3D printing, achieving high print quality. There are several methods for using pellets in 3D printing:

  • 93A TPU pellets can be used in the manufacture of filament for FDM 3D printers using Filastruder or any other filament extruder.
  • It is possible to use a pellet extruder for direct 3D printing.

PIn order to obtain different colours, the TPU 93A material pellets must be combined with the desired dyes. In this way, custom colours can be achieved. This can be very useful, as in some cases it can be difficult to find the exact colour required for each application. This is a great advantage, especially when producing small batches of parts in a particular colour.

With the combination of TPU 93A Pellets and a good filament extruder such as Filastruder, it is possible to obtain 3D printing filament with qualities similar to those of a commercial TPU 93A filament. For optimal results, it is recommended to read the product's usage tips.

When using TPU 93A Pellets to make filament with a filament extruder such as Filastruder or using a pellet extruder for direct 3D printing, it should be noted that the extrusion temperature must be regulated in relation to the extrusion speed used. For optimal results, it is recommended to read the product's usage tips.

TPU is a highly hygroscopic material, which means that it has a tendency to absorb moisture. For this reason, it is recommended to store 93A TPU pellets in an airtight bag and to use desiccant bags to prevent them from absorbing moisture. If the pellets have moisture in them, the filament you make may contain small imperfections that can affect print quality. If pellets are used to make filament, it is also recommended to store the resulting filament in a dry place or in an airtight bag.
