PET-CF - Bambu Lab
The Bambu Lab PET-CF is a filament composed of PET reinforced with carbon fiber, specially formulated to offer high mechanical properties while maintaining low deformation. Its low moisture absorption, dimensional stability, and thermal resistance make it ideal for functional parts that must withstand loads, humid environments, or high temperatures.
Key specifications include a diameter of 1.75 mm with ±0.03 mm tolerance, and availability in 0.5 kg or 1 kg spools mounted on a high-temperature reusable reel. Hardened steel nozzles of 0.4 mm, 0.6 mm — recommended — and 0.8 mm are suitable for printers with a closed chamber. Engineering Plate, High Temperature Plate, or Textured PEI Plate print surfaces work well. It is important to maintain a bed temperature of 80-100 °C and keep the printer protected to avoid air drafts that could affect print quality.
For optimal printing, the filament must be dried before use (80 °C for 8-12 h) and stored in sealed containers with desiccant, keeping relative humidity below 20%. Print speed should remain under 100 mm/s to preserve layer adhesion, while cooling fans should be used sparingly to prevent sudden cooling that may cause failures. With these practices, PET-CF allows the production of durable, strong, and professional-quality parts.
