How to Get the Most Out of Your Parts

The annealing process is essential for improving the mechanical properties of 3D printed parts. By applying controlled heat, the relaxation of macromolecules in plastics is accelerated, which helps to reduce residual stresses generated during manufacturing. This treatment, also known as annealing, significantly improves the stability and mechanical strength of the material, optimizing the durability and performance of parts in demanding applications.

Benefits of Annealing: Increased Stability and Strength

The main benefits of annealing include the improvement of mechanical strength, the reduction of internal stresses, and an increase in the thermal and chemical stability of the material. Annealing of High-Performance Materials

Another good example of a material that benefits from annealing is PPS (such as Fiberon PPS-CF10), a high-performance polymer known for its resistance to extreme temperatures and stability against aggressive chemicals. To maximize its properties, PPS must undergo a post-crystallization process, which improves its crystallinity and, consequently, its mechanical, thermal, and chemical resistance. Without this treatment, 3D printed PPS parts would not achieve their maximum performance.

Excellent Sealing

The FilaDryer E2 features a design with excellent sealing thanks to its one-piece silicone stopper, silicone sealing strips on the cover plate, and a magnetic suction block, which prevents external water vapor from entering the drying and annealing chamber. Its dual-chamber design at the top, middle, and bottom allows it to reach temperatures above 100°C.

Smart Protection System

Safety is a priority in the design of the FilaDryer E2. It includes a smart protection system that ensures the safe operation of the device. If the temperature exceeds the preset value by more than 10°C or if the device continues to operate improperly, an alarm will sound to alert the user. Additionally, the FilaDryer E2 has a temperature control system that automatically disconnects the power in case of overheating, allowing the device to cool down and return to normal operation.

Preparation

Proper Temperature

Avoid Opening the Lid
