BASF is a renowned manufacturer specialising in the development of chemical products. Its product range includes products for the production of 3D printing materials for FDM, resin and SLS.

Ultracur3D® EPD 2006 resin is a resin for daylight resin technology, i.e. for use in visible light printers such as Photocentric printers. Daylight is a lower energy, longer wavelength light that ensures more reliable polymerisation than UV light.

Photocentric has teamed up with BASF to create a range of Engineering Plastic Daylight (EPD) materials for a wide range of applications.

Before starting a print, the resin should be shaken well and, if possible, vacuumed to remove any bubbles that may have formed.

Once printed, the pieces should be cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. To do this it is advisable to immerse the pieces in a container with isopropyl alcohol and place this container in an ultrasonic cleaner for 4 minutes. It is recommended not to immerse the piece for long periods of time to avoid deformation and softening.

After cleaning, the pieces should be dried for 30 minutes at 40 ºC. Once dry, parts printed with BASF Ultracur3D resins should be cured at room temperature to obtain optimum properties. Curing conditions will depend on the characteristics of the printer used and the curing equipment.

All customers who have purchased any resin from the BASF Ultracur3D range can request the appropriate user guide. This can be done using the contact form by selecting "Technical Support" in the subject line and the order number of the resin.
