The MED3394 resin from Loctite is a cutting-edge resin designed for medical-grade 3D printing applications, representing a significant advancement in the field of photopolymers. Its standout feature is its exceptional resistance to sterilization processes, particularly autoclaving, which is known to degrade many conventional resins. This innovative resin maintains its mechanical properties, dimensional stability, and high feature accuracy even after 25 autoclave cycles, making it ideal for use in demanding medical environments. Additionally, it exhibits low solvent absorption, ensuring reliable long-term performance in applications where sterilization is critical. Test results can be consulted in the resin’s technical datasheet in the Attachments section.

Beyond its sterilization resilience, Loctite 3D MED3394 meets the stringent ISO 10993 standards for biocompatibility, including cytotoxicity, irritation and skin sensitization, or acute systemic toxicity, ensuring safety for medical use. The resin is also free from CMR (Carcinogenic, Mutagenic, or Reproductively hazardous) substances, further enhancing its safety profile. Its certification under USP Class VI reflects its compliance with the highest medical-grade material standards, making it suitable for devices and components that come into direct contact with the human body.

Loctite 3D MED3394 offers superior mechanical properties, with a Heat Deflection Temperature of 100 ºC, a Young's Modulus of 2500 MPa, and a tensile stress at break of 68 MPa. These features, along with a 12 % elongation at break and a notched Izod impact resistance of 26 J/m, make it a highly durable and precise material for 3D printing. Available in both white and sheer black and compatible with a variety of DLP, LCD, and mSLA resin 3D printers, this resin is ideal for applications requiring high dimensional accuracy, chemical resistance, and sterilization, such as surgical tools, hospital devices, and equipment used in clean room environments.
