Zortrax is a Polish company founded in 2013 and focused on the development of professional 3D printing systems. Its main strength is the excellent optimisation and integration between its 3D printers, materials and software. This greatly simplifies the entire printing process, minimising set-up times and reducing the likelihood of failure to a minimum, making them ideal systems for professional environments.
Zortrax offers a wide range of technical materials perfectly optimised for best results in conjunction with its LPD printers, including ABS, ASA, PCABS, Nylon, HIPS and others.
Within the ABS range, Zortrax offers two different options: Z-ABS and Z-ABS 2, both available in 800 g coils.
Z-ABS is Zortrax's universal solution for producing cost-effective prototypes and components. It is Zortrax's most economical material and consists of a high quality ABS filament available in three basic colours: Cool Grey, Black and White.
It has high temperature resistance and excellent mechanical properties, which makes it suitable even for functional mechanical prototypes. In addition, its matt finish and the possibility of easy mechanical or chemical post-processing makes it suitable also for the production of mock-ups and mock-ups.

Z-ABS 2 is an improved ABS filament ideal for functional prototypes and final components requiring higher mechanical performance than conventional ABS.
It has a higher tensile strength and greater durability than conventional ABS. It also has a semi-matt finish, provides better surface quality and detail and is available in a wide variety of colours.
Like Z-ABS, Z-ABS 2 is easily post-processed both mechanically and chemically.
Both Z-ABS and Z-ABS 2 are compatible with Zortrax Apoller, a chemical post-processing device that smoothes the surface of parts and gives them a glossy finish by spraying acetone or methyl ether ketone (MEK).

The Zortrax Z-SUITE software includes optimised profiles for this material and different profiles for Z-ABS and Z-ABS 2. It is very important to ensure that the correct profile is selected for each of them.
