Polyamide 6 (PA6) is the most common extruded polyamide. It is known in industry for its good damping properties and impact resistance, as well as good toughness at low temperatures. It is ideal for bearings and gears, for example, as they would run quietly.
This material, developed by Nanovia, combines mechanical, thermal and chemical resistance.
PA6 pellets do not incorporate recycled or reclaimed material. Thanks to these qualities, PA6 pellets are perfect for 3D printing, achieving high print quality. There are several methods for using pellets in 3D printing:
With the combination of PA6 pellets and a good filament extruder such as Filastruder, it is possible to obtain 3D printing filament with qualities similar to those of a commercial PA6 filament.
When using PA6 Pellets to make filament with a filament extruder such as Filastruder or using a pellet extruder for direct 3D printing, it should be noted that the extrusion temperature must be regulated in relation to the extrusion speed used.
PA6 pellets have a high sensitivity to humidity and should be kept in dry conditions (relative humidity of 20% or less) at all times. For optimal results, it is recommended to read the product usage advice.
PA6 pellets are designed for best results in 3D printing and is an ideal material for use in the automotive industry or for functional prototyping.

When using PA6 pellets to make filament or as a material for direct 3D printing with a pellet extruder, it must be taken into account that it is a material with a certain difficulty in printing, due to the warping effect that it can generate.
PA6 is a very hygroscopic material, so it is advisable to store PA6 pellets in an airtight bag or use desiccant bags to prevent them from absorbing moisture. If the pellets have moisture in them, the filament that is manufactured may contain small imperfections that can negatively affect the final result.
