Semi-rigid filament ideal for the manufacture of shock absorbers, prostheses, etc.

Tough as ABS, with a Shore D value of 70, this FFF polyurethane thermoplastic allows semi-rigid structural components to recover their shape despite significant deformations caused by brutal impacts. Nanovia 70D TPU is capable of stretching three times its original length and is hard enough to be further treated. UV resistant, this filament is suitable for outdoor use.

TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is a thermoplastic, a linear elastomer polymer belonging to the polyurethane family. Within TPU, different hardness ranges can be found. TPU 70D filament has a Shore hardness of 70D and is therefore considered a semi-rigid material due to its high hardness.

Despite its stiffness, this filament has other properties of TPU such as:

  • Excellent impact resistance
  • Tear resistance
  • Abrasion resistance
  • Chemical, solvent, oil and ozone resistance
