Two of the main limitations when printing a piece in a 3D printer are size and time. Many times you can print a piece is not feasible or because not fit on the print base to your printer or print time because of it is nonsense. This limitation is usually solved by printing the workpiece into several parts and then joining them, either mechanically or with adhesive elements. The option is the glue used in the majority of materials used in 3D printing.
But what if the piece is made of nylon the finishing of parts of nylon is inherently slippery surface which makes it impossible to glue two pieces of nylon each with a standard glue. For years, many manufacturers have renounced manufacture adhesives glues to attach nylon surfaces due to low demand linked to the complexity of the binding of this material. That is why Taulman 3D (Prestigious American manufacturer of many filaments nylon) has developed its own glue "Taulman Complete" getting a great union between pieces of nylon. With the Complete glue is achieved add real functionality to the joined pieces between several parties.
Complete Taulman glue addition meets the highest standards ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials) to paste pieces of nylon. Nylon is an excellent material for use in FDM 3D printer by its mechanical strength and good resistance to high temperatures. So strong is the glue that complete tests (ASTM D3163-01 / 2014), none of Bonds broke away, in fact he broke before the piece ends by the union itself. This union occurred to 590 PSI. Taulman Complete glue boats are 20 grams with a positive pressure. Complete Taulman glue is a modified cyanoacrylate adhesive for bonding many materials (Although it was developed specifically for bonding nylon).
The modifications were designed to glue one nylon surfaces and thus present a safe and without modifying the surface of the pieces with sandpaper or abrasive bond. Then a real practical example provided by Taulman 3D which can be seen through the glue as you can get complete save time and print material is shown. You could print the entire piece in one piece in exchange for spending much material support and long print or printed the piece in two parts and then stick them with the help of complete Taulman saving material and printing time.
Original design file level
File with supporting material. Printing time is 5 hours and the material used 0.49 Lb
Original file divided into two parts
File without any material support. Printing time is 2.34 hours and the material used 0,23Lb
Actual printing of both sides of the piece.
Final score after hitting the two parts of the piece Taulman complete.
