The PLA12 KCL Formi 3D Iconic Black is a 3D printing filament that combines technical innovation and sustainability through a biocomposite formulated with bio-based PLA and cellulose fibers sourced from responsibly managed forests. The result is a strong and durable material with a deep black coloration reinforced with carbon black for UV resistance, ideal for outdoor applications, prototyping, furniture, and large-format production.

The fast cooling capability and minimal dimensional shrinkage of PLA12 Iconic Black ensure that parts remain in shape without dripping or warping, allowing for stable and precise prints even in complex geometries. The formulation provides excellent printability and a steady flow that preserves extruder lifespan, optimizing additive manufacturing processes in both industrial environments and design studios.

The natural texture provides a wood-like finish that allows traditional post-processing: prints made with this material can be milled, sanded, painted, varnished, and waxed to achieve high-quality aesthetic and functional results. This combination of properties facilitates the creation of technical molds, structural parts, and decorative elements with the look and feel of real wood.

From a sustainability standpoint, the material is 100% recyclable and designed to integrate into closed-loop systems, reducing environmental impact. Furthermore, its lower ash content upon incineration and its composition based on renewable resources make it a more responsible alternative compared to conventional materials, aligning performance with circular economy principles.

The formulation also offers key operational advantages: it maintains shape and does not drip during the process, is safe and easy to print in open atmospheres, and allows wood-like post-processing for professional finishes. These qualities position KCL Formi 3D Iconic Black as an advanced solution for industrial 3D printing, functional prototyping, mold production, interior design, and creative projects requiring mechanical strength, dimensional stability, and a superior aesthetic finish.

The material contains cellulose fibers that can absorb moisture if the package is left open. It is recommended to keep the container sealed whenever possible. To ensure optimal properties, it is advisable to dry the material overnight at 50-55°C, preferably using a dehumidifying dryer.

The recommended maximum processing temperature is 200°C; overheating can cause thermal degradation of the material. Under normal conditions of storage, handling, and use, the product is not flammable. In the event of a fire due to incorrect handling or storage, it is recommended to use multi-purpose powder extinguishers (type ABC) or water, following fire protection regulations.

The granules should be protected from UV light and stored in sealed packages, in dry conditions and at temperatures below 50°C. Exposure to air humidity can increase the water content of the material, negatively affecting the final properties of the printed product.
