Matte Finish and Fine Detail in Every Print

One of the main benefits of the PLA Wood filament is its matte finish, which minimizes the visibility of layer lines and significantly enhances the aesthetic result. This property enables cleaner, smoother, more professional surfaces without the need for additional post-processing. It's especially valued in projects where visual realism is key, such as replicas of furniture pieces, decorative figures, or limited-edition packaging.

Unlimited Creativity and Compatibility

PLA Wood can be easily combined with other materials in the same family, such as PLA Basic or PLA Matte, allowing for the creation of multicolor pieces with varied textures. This integration enables the design of personalized models featuring wood details combined with solid, metallic, or satin colors, unlocking a wide range of possibilities for designers, makers, and 3D printing professionals aiming to stand out in every project.

RFID Technology for Efficient, Automated Printing

All print parameters are embedded in the filament thanks to RFID technology. This allows AMS systems to automatically recognize the material and configure the correct print profile, eliminating common manual setup errors and ensuring consistent results from the first attempt. It's a solution designed to optimize workflow time and maintain consistent quality in every print.

The PLA Wood filament is composed of high-quality PLA mixed with natural wood powder, which provides an authentic look and a realistic wood-like texture. Due to its special composition, it requires certain usage conditions to ensure stable and high-quality 3D printing.

Drying and storage: PLA Wood has a high sensitivity to moisture. Although it is delivered dry and vacuum-sealed, transport can affect its water content. It is recommended to dry the filament before each use at 55 ± 5 °C for 8 hours in a rapid-drying oven, or at 65–75 °C for 12 hours if using an X1 chamber. After use, it should be stored in an airtight container with desiccant or inside the AMS system to maintain its optimal performance.

Accessory compatibility: For optimal results, it is recommended to use a hardened steel nozzle of 0.4 mm, 0.6 mm, or 0.8 mm. 0.2 mm nozzles are not compatible due to the risk of clogging. Suitable build plates include the Cool Plate SuperTack, as well as smooth PEI or textured plates. It is recommended to apply Bambu liquid glue to improve adhesion.

Aesthetic considerations: Due to the natural wood content, there may be slight color variations between spools or even within the same print. During printing, the filament emits a pleasant, mild, and non-toxic wood aroma, which adds a distinctive sensory value to each project.
