Owens Corning: Experience and quality

Owens Corning is a global company that develops and produces insulation compounds, roofing and fiberglass. It was formed in 1935 as a partnership between two large American stained-glass windows, Corning Glass Works and Owens-Illinois.

After a trajectory of innovation worldwide, they bet to take advantage of all their knowledge to create filaments with polymeric base and alloys with fiberglass. A few months after the launch of its XSTRAND filaments, it had already become one of the benchmarks in terms of mechanical strength in the 3D printing market.

Filaments XSTRAND

Its filament XSTRAND GF30-PC is up to 250 % more resistant than common filaments, ensuring high mechanical performance and high resistance to wear in the most extreme conditions. Developed to offer superior durability, XSTRAND filament offers the ability to produce parts in short periods of time and at a low cost, while maintaining great durability and high quality surface finish. In addition, XSTRAND presents chemical and UV resistance, inflammability, thermal stability, high mechanical performance, design flexibility and the ability to test final solutions in real conditions.

Industrial applications

The XSTRAND filament is ideal for the manufacture of industrial parts and tools. This materials allows to design, print and make modifications to parts and tools on the site. XSTRAND is also perfect for the rapid creation of prototypes and custom design tests in the most demanding sectors, such as mechanical, electrical, electronic and automotive engineering, where small-scale production of parts is indispensable.
