This silicone sock for Bambu Lab 3D printers is a replacement part designed to improve thermal insulation and protection of the heater block across different series of the brand, including the X1, P1 and A1 series, as well as the new H2 series, including the Bambu Lab H2C. Made from high-quality silicone, it withstands operating temperatures of up to 300 °C, ensuring excellent thermal resistance, greater hotend stability, and effective protection against cooling airflow and material residue buildup.

Thanks to its properties, this sock helps to prevent molten plastic from sticking to the heater block, reducing the need for frequent maintenance and extending the lifespan of the hotend assembly. Its design ensures a precise fit that maintains thermal stability even during long prints or when using technical materials that require high temperatures.

The silicone sock (supplied in packs of 3 units) should be replaced when it loses its fit, shows deformation, or develops cracks or tears, as these conditions may compromise its thermal and protective performance. For replacement, it is recommended to follow the official procedure available in the Bambu Lab Wiki, which provides a step-by-step guide to ensure correct installation.

  • Install the silicone sock only when the hotend is completely cold to avoid burns and ensure correct assembly.
  • Check that the sock is perfectly fitted around the heater block and that it does not interfere with the nozzle or the airflow from the fans.
  • If cracks, deformation, or loss of fit are observed, replace the sock with a new one to maintain proper thermal insulation.
  • Periodically remove any filament residue adhered to the outer surface to prevent buildup that could affect print quality.
  • Verify the compatibility of the selected version with your printer before installation, as specific models exist for the X1/P1 series and the A1 series.
  • A sock in good condition helps maintain a more stable hotend temperature, especially during long prints or with materials requiring high temperatures.
  • After performing hotend maintenance or replacing the nozzle, ensure the sock is correctly positioned before starting a new print.
  • Avoid using sharp metal tools to remove material residues, as they may damage or puncture the silicone.
  • Regularly inspect the sock when working with materials prone to buildup around the nozzle, such as PETG or certain technical materials.
  • It is recommended to keep spare units available to quickly replace the sock when wear appears, maintaining the original thermal performance of the system.
