XECARB PA12-CF-ST technical filament for FFF/FDM 3D printing is based on PA12 polyamide (Nylon 12) reinforced with 15% carbon fiber. It has been developed for the manufacturing of lightweight, rigid, and dimensionally stable functional parts. Thanks to the Super Tough Upgrade (ST) technology by Xenia, this material combines high mechanical performance with a density of 1.06 g/cm³, while also offering excellent impact resistance even under demanding operating conditions.

The design of this carbon fiber PA12 filament achieves an optimal balance between lightness, stiffness, and toughness, enhancing the inherent properties of the PA12 matrix, such as low moisture absorption, high wear resistance, and dimensional reliability in environments with thermal variations. The combination of the PA12 polymer base, carbon fiber reinforcement, and ST technology increases both impact strength and elongation at break, providing superior mechanical behavior for functional components.

Thermal resistance and stability for industrial applications

From a thermal standpoint, PA12-CF filament for industrial 3D printing features a melting point of 180 °C and an HDT of 150 °C (1.80 MPa), making it an ideal solution for components subjected to combined thermal and mechanical stress.

These properties enable its use in the production of technical mounts, structural parts, and functional components in environments where stability under load is critical. The performance of carbon fiber reinforced PA12 for FDM/FFF ensures reliability even during prolonged working cycles.

PA12-CF-ST filament for high-performance functional parts

Due to its combination of toughness, dimensional stability, thermal resistance, and low moisture absorption, the PA12-CF-ST carbon fiber nylon filament is highly recommended for manufacturing lightweight functional parts and structural components in sectors such as aerospace, automotive, consumer goods, and general industry.

Its performance positions it as a reference material for applications where mechanical reliability and consistent behavior under load are essential in professional 3D printing.

Optimized printing parameters for FFF/FDM

PA12-CF-ST filament for technical 3D printing features a processing window between 240 and 280 °C, with a recommended heated bed temperature between 80 and 110 °C, and a printing speed below 100 mm/s. These conditions ensure proper layer adhesion and stable manufacturing of functional parts.

This printing behavior facilitates the production of components with high dimensional accuracy, excellent structural rigidity, and great surface quality, optimizing performance in advanced technical applications.

Advanced solution in carbon fiber nylon filaments

PA12-CF-ST for industrial 3D printing is a technical filament designed for the production of high-performance functional parts where a balance between mechanical strength, lightness, and thermal stability is required.

Its advanced formulation makes it an ideal solution for manufacturing reliable technical components capable of maintaining their structural integrity in demanding applications and variable work environments.

To achieve optimal performance with XECARB PA12-CF-ST, it is recommended to work with a nozzle temperature between 240 °C and 280 °C, as well as keeping the heated bed in a range of 80 °C to 110 °C.

The use of a hardened steel nozzle with a diameter of 0.4 mm or greater is highly recommended. It is also suggested to print inside a closed chamber to ensure better thermal stability throughout the manufacturing process.

On the other hand, it is important to pre-dry the material at 85 °C for a period of 4 to 8 hours, in order to preserve the surface finish, improve interlayer adhesion, and guarantee the final mechanical strength of the printed part.
