The mainboard of the Elegoo Neptune 4 series functions as the electronic control hub for the Neptune 4, Neptune 4 Pro, Neptune 4 Plus, and Neptune 4 Max 3D printers, managing both motion logic and coordination of thermal and peripheral systems. This board is designed to provide high performance and operational stability, supporting advanced printing functions and firmware control.

In Neptune 4 variants, the mainboard is typically equipped with a high-performance 64-bit ARM processor with four cores and a 1.5 GHz frequency, providing significant processing capacity to quickly execute motion commands, thermal control, and firmware options such as Klipper. It also includes approximately 8 GB of internal memory for storing print files and configurations.

The board design features silent drivers for the stepper motors of the X, Y, Z axes, and the extruder, which helps reduce operational noise and improves motion smoothness, resulting in more precise and stable prints. Additionally, it integrates interfaces for sensors and peripherals such as the filament sensor, endstop detection, touchscreen, fans, and connections for heating cartridges and thermistors.
